The third lecture in a four-part series by Dr. Art Pitz.

Lecture 3: "A Look at the Persian Gulf States: Qatar, Bahrain and UAE”

These Persian Sunni Gulf states are of significant importance, each in their own right and especially in the Sunni-Shia conflict epitomized by Saudi Arabia vis-à-vis Iran.  We'll discuss each nation's situation and roles in this conflict. 

This is the third in a four-lecture series. The complete lecture series is as follows:

Dr. Pitz has provided the Quad Cities with informed commentary on contemporary Middle East issues. He has studied and taught on the modern Middle East for many years, both at home and overseas, including as a Fulbright Specialist.

This program is a partnership between Bettendorf Public Library, Davenport Public Library, and the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities. It is sponsored by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.
