SAU Professor Mara Adams, PhD will speak on her experience and the reconciliation happening in Northern Ireland.
A sculpture in Derry, Northern Ireland commemorates The Troubles. But even today, the city is referred to as "Derry" by those who are Catholics, and as "Londonderry" by those who are Protestant. And Catholics and Protestants have not been fighting over religion--the denominational names are placeholders for their political views. Protestants want NI to stay part of the UK, and Catholics want a completely free and independent Ireland.
