2021 Membership

Friends

Did you know:

  • In November, the Friends of the Library opened a book shop in the library.  It operates on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays.
  • Volunteers sort donated magazines and books on a daily basis and put them out for sale in the book shop, so there are regularly new selections on sale.
  • In its two months of operation, the book shop has raised over $2000 for library programs.
  • In 2020, memberships in all categories totaled over $2900.

All of these projects allow the Friends to provide materials and programming to the library.

The Friends approved funding thirty projects requested by the library in 2020 for over $20,000.

Membership in the Friends is an affordable way to support the Bettendorf Public Library.

Memberships run for a calendar year.  In addition to supporting the library, your membership offers you the opportunity to attend the Friends preview sale when we resume our semiannual book sales, hopefully this fall.

We invite you to join the Friends.

There are no special requirements to become a Friend.  Join and realize the satisfaction that you have helped to support the Bettendorf Public Library.  As a current or future member of the Friends, please consider volunteering to assist in operation of our book shop or sorting and processing of donations for our sales.

Please use this form to send in your membership for calendar year 2021. If you have already joined since January, we thank you for your membership

Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library

The Friends are members of a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the Bettendorf Public Library. The Friends contribute to the purchase of books and materials, to Library programs for adults and children, and to other expenditures beyond the Library's budget.

Funds are raised through an annual membership drive, collection of used books and magazines for re-sale, and an annual Holiday Bazaar.

Meetings are held monthly at the Library, September through June, on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

For more information about volunteering with the Friends, contact the Bettendorf Public Library Volunteer Coordinator. For questions about the book fairs or bazaar, contact the Administrative Assistant at 563-344-4177.

The Friends 2021 membership application is available here. Individual memberships are $5 and a family membership is $10.
