Laure Mesny is a perfectionist with an axe to grind. She is in the cutthroat world of the Parisian ballet. She is overlooked because she is Black, and she decides she will do anything to prove that she deserves center stage. She ventures deep under Paris, into the depths of the Catacombs. She finds a pulsating river of blood and a presence promising power. Promising influence and adoration, Laure makes a deal. But her power brings a need for retribution. Her bitterness begins leaving broken bodies behind her on her way to stardom. Does she descend into madness and succumb to the darkness of the mystical underworld or is there another way for validation for those with a monstrous heart?

Get Lit is a book discussion group for those adventurous souls who would like to read a little something different. A limited number of books are available at the Information Desk on a first come basis.

Get Lit meets outside the library at Adventurous Brewing in Bettendorf. Please note Adventurous Brewing is a 21 and older location.
