The future of the Bettendorf Public Library depends on the support of those within this community. Although tax dollars fund the basic operation of the library, we need the help from other income sources in order to continue our work of helping people to read, learn, and improve the quality of their lives.
Recognizing the mission and vision of the Library Foundation, in 1991, Elizabeth Malmros donated her entire estate to the Bettendorf Public Library Foundation. She was a charter Trustee of the Bettendorf Public Library and served on the Board of Trustees until her death. Her gift totaling $150,000 enabled the foundation to establish our endowment fund. This generosity paved the way to a bright future for the library. The Malmros Society recognizes other major contributors in her name and was created in honor of Mrs. Malmros' dedication and inspiration.
