Dr. Jason Seol will discuss the U.S.-ROK Alliance from its 1950s origins through its 75-year evolution, highlighting the importance of the alliance to global peace.

Dr. Jason Seol, Deputy Director of Future Operations, will provide a brief history of how the U.S.-ROK Alliance came about since the onset of the 1950-1953 Korean War, its evolution over the last 75 years, and how the one-of-a-kind alliance became "ironclad," with an emphasis on why Korea matters. He will provide his personal experiences dealing with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and share his lessons learned on the importance of this alliance to global peace and prosperity.

The World Affairs Council of the QC (WACQC) is non-partisan and a 501(c) (3) organization affiliated with World Affairs Council of America. Please contact Dr. Duk Kim, Duk_Kim@wacquadcities.org, if you have any questions. Visit www.wacqc.org/ for more information. Our event is free and open to the public.
