Cooking the Books
Monday, August 10
6:30pm - 8:00pm
Bettendorf Public Library
Bettendorf Single RoomExplore our cookbook collection and prepare a dish based off a color we will email you! It's a special mystery challenge!
We have a fun challenge for this month's meet-up: Participants will make a dish based upon an assigned color!
At Cooking the Books, we explore a new theme or ingredient while diving into recipes from the library’s cookbook collection. Prior to the meeting, browse the library’s cookbook section (call number 641.5) or our online resources AtoZ Food America and AtoZ World Food to find a recipe that matches the theme. Bring your dish to the meeting (and the cookbook you used), and enjoy sampling creations while discussing culinary tips, tricks, and inspiration with fellow attendees. This meeting we're cooking a dish based off a mystery color! Attendees will be assigned a color and will make a dish corresponding with that color.
NEW! At each meeting, every participant will receive a booklet with the recipes we are sampling. If you would like your recipe to be included, please submit it to either cnoble@bettendorf.org or ckennedy@bettendorf.org by the Wednesday before the meeting.
What to bring to the meeting:
- Your prepared dish to share
- A serving utensil (if possible)
- The cookbook you used
Space is limited and registration is required. This book club is funded by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.
