Join us for a 45-minute lunchtime performance by The Quad City Ukulele Club!
Since March 3, 2012, the Quad City Ukulele Club (QCUC) has been strumming a joyful tune. Currently led by Phil Vernon, one of the original members, the club has become a platform for ukulele musicians to play, sing, and, most importantly, have fun together!
If the mention of “ukulele” conjures images of Tiny Tim or Don Ho, you’re in for a surprise. QCUC’s repertoire includes folk tunes and classic rock, but these skilled musicians adapt their performances to match their audience, ensuring everyone has a tune to tap their feet to.
You’ll hear QCUC’s music throughout libraries, retirement facilities, and any place that could use the instrument’s unique sound. Their music has entertained crowds at events like the Bix 7, the Firecracker Run, the Beaux Arts Fair, and the Festival of Trees.
Attendees are invited to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water are provided.
Funding for Brown Bag Lunch performances is provided by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.
The Bettendorf Public Library has served the community of Bettendorf since July 12, 1955. We offer Library events for all ages, and our meeting rooms are available for public use. See more information about our meeting room policy at http://www.bettendorflibrary.com/services/meeting-rooms.
